Looping Memory

This video was produced as part of a personal project to develop artist practice and was made using archival footage from the British Film Council's Film Collection alongside personal archive footage.

The video explores the themes of memory and time, in particular the idea of memory being not just isolated to the individual - but imagining the possibility of instinctual knowledge and feelings transferred down the generations.

The piece sets out to create the sense that the viewer is akin to a ghost from the present looking in on people and places of the past, imagining that the people in the footage might have gotten a strange, fleeting feeling that they couldn't explain as we watch them.
